Kindness is all around us. Sometimes it finds us in the most unexpected moments, and sometimes, we need to slow down, open our eyes, and recognize the kindness that surrounds us. Most importantly, we have the opportunity to choose kindness and be part of creating kindness for others.
The picture above captures a beautiful moment of friendship and unintended matching shirts. It’s a great reminder that every child needs to feel valued and included.
What may seem like a simple moment or gesture can mean so much more to a child. These are the moments that help create a school community where everyone feels they belong.
These students are carrying on Mr. Bender’s legacy of being kind to one another in a simple, yet powerful way. They remind us that kindness doesn't have to be grand or complicated.
Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness, such as making a new friend or helping someone feel they belong, are often the ones that matter most. 💙💛

Picture day may have been a little delayed this year, but it was a success! Our students looked sharp and smiled bright for the cameras. School pictures are such a fun way to capture and cherish those special Longden memories!

Mrs. Change and Mrs. Ghils’ students enjoyed every minute exploring the exhibits and participating in the workshops at the California Science Center.
Next week we get to do it all over again as the remaining fifth graders embark on the same adventure.

While some students have their dream costumes planned, others are still deciding what to wear. Here are a few tips to help you design and shop the perfect costume that will be frightful and fun!
🧛 Toy weapons of any kind are not permitted, including nunchucks, throwing stars, guns, swords, lightsabers, etc.
🦇 Costumes must allow students to comfortably write, read, complete classroom assignments, sit properly in a chair, eat, and safely walk up and down stairs.
🕷️ Costumes must not be offensive to any ethnic or religious group or promote violence or terrorist organizations.
🎃 Costumes must be appropriate for an elementary school setting and should not be revealing or adult-like.
All students are invited to participate in the parade. Wearing a costume is optional, and students are not required to walk with their friends.
⚠️ Costume Safety: Please make sure costumes are safe for movement and do not block vision. Avoid long trailing pieces, oversized masks that limit sight, or anything that could cause tripping hazards.
