Be Kind–Be Safe–Be Responsible

ll

Hello, Longden Tigers and families,

You’ve probably noticed that I haven’t been out at the carline for drop-offs and pick-ups, around campus, or at our most recent school events. I want to sincerely apologize for my absence and for not being present with all of you.

Unfortunately, I’ve been at home recovering from a sciatica injury and have had many doctor’s visits. I am receiving medical attention and doing everything possible to heal and return to Longden as quickly as possible.

Please know that our students have always been,  and continue to be, my number one concern.
Even while I’ve been away, my thoughts are constantly with them and with all of you.
I miss our Longden community more than words can express — so much that I could cry, and I have a few times.

Our students, families, and staff mean the world to me.
I can’t wait to be back where I belong, seeing your smiling faces, greeting our students, and simply being part of the daily rhythm of our school again.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support. It truly means more than you know.

With all my heart,
Kyle Bender 🐾

School News & Updates

💦 PTA Back to School Family Night was a huge hit!
We had an absolute blast with activities, water play, food, and wonderful company.
🫶🏻Special thanks to Mr. Nguyen, Mrs. Dickinson, Miss Arellano, and Mrs. Betts for their awesome sportsmanship and for getting soaked in the dunking chair— you made the evening extra special!

👏 First Fire Drill: Great Job, Everyone!
We’re happy to share that our first fire drill was a great success! Our students did a wonderful job quickly and calmly remembering and following the safety procedures.
We are so proud of our students and appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping keep our school safe.

🤗 🙌 We’re off to a great start this year, and we want to keep that positive momentum going!
One small way we can all help is by making sure students come to school dressed according to our dress code. Lately, we’ve seen some students wearing clothing that doesn’t meet our dress code expectations.
Following the dress code helps create a positive, focused learning environment for all of our Tigers.

We kindly ask that you review Longden's dress code.

🚨 Clothing must not disrupt school activities or endanger safety. The following are prohibited:
- Short shorts/skirts
- Midriff tops
- Halter tops
- Spaghetti straps
- Sheer shirts
- Tube tops
- Baggy or oversized pants
- Heavy neck, wrist, and wallet chains

🚫 Clothing with slogans or designs related to drugs, alcohol, sex, gangs, violence, or that disparage any group is not allowed.

Hats may only be worn during PE and recess.

Shoes are required at all times.
Crocs or Crocs-style shoes, open-toed shoes, flip-flops, and slippers are not permitted. If your shoes cannot be worn during PE, do not wear them to school.

Students in violation of the dress code will be sent to the office, and parents will be notified. Students will remain in the office until a parent provides acceptable clothing or the issue is resolved. School administrators will make the final decision.

😌  Lastly, please remember that school will be closed on Monday, September 7, for Labor Day.
Enjoy your long weekend, and we can’t wait to see you on Tuesday!
