Hello Longden Families!

🎉 What a great first week! We want to take a moment to thank all of our Longden families for helping us start the school year on such a positive note. We appreciate your support, patience, and flexibility as everyone gets back into the rhythm of school—especially during those busy drop-off and pick-up times.
Your partnership makes it possible, and we’re so happy to have you as part of our Longden community!

😋❤️ We Love Our PTA!
A special shout-out to our amazing PTA for treating our staff to a delicious back-to-school lunch! Our teachers and staff felt so appreciated and cared for.
Thank you, PTA, for helping make our first week extra special!

📚 i-Ready Diagnostics Are Underway
The first i-Ready Diagnostic window of the school year is now open. Students will be completing their reading and math assessments over the coming days.
The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts to each student’s individual level and helps teachers understand their strengths and areas where they may need additional support. Throughout the year, students will also use i-Ready lessons designed to help them grow toward their reading and math goals.
Please encourage your child to take their time to do their best.

We have an exciting week coming up!
  • Wednesday: Students will enjoy our first spirit assembly of the school year! We can’t wait to kick things off with some Longden spirit.
  • Thursday: We’re excited to welcome families of TK, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, Miss Montes, and Miss Morales’s students for Back-to-School Night. We look forward to connecting with you, sharing information about the year ahead, and getting to know our families.
  • Reminder: Thursday is a minimum day, so please plan accordingly for the earlier dismissal.
Thank you again for helping us begin the school year with such wonderful energy and support. We’re looking forward to all the learning, memories, and fun that are ahead!
Here’s to a fantastic school year together, Longden! 🐾

⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE: Protocols for the Longden Ave. Walking Gates & Drive-Through

🚶 WALKING GATE / ADULT PICK-UP
Parents, please wait for your child outside the walking gate, near the grass area.

🚫 Please do not stand between the yellow lines, as shown in the picture below.
This area is for students only while they wait to be picked up by a vehicle.

Beginning Monday, a staff member will redirect parents who are standing in this area to ensure the space remains accessible and safe for children as they enter vehicles.

🚗 CAR PICK-UP
Please remain in your vehicle and follow staff directions during dismissal.

🚩 Name Placards
To help afternoon pick-up run as smoothly and efficiently as possible, please make sure your child’s name placard is clearly visible when you arrive. When we can easily see and read your child’s name, our staff can quickly call for them and have them ready to safely get into the vehicle. This also helps us assist families using the walk-up gates.

Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe and organized!
