It’s been a wonderful week of hard work, growth, and appreciation at Longden!

💻 Learning & Assessments

Students have successfully completed CAASPP testing and continue working through their i-Ready diagnostics. Next week, our 5th grade students will be taking the CAST assessment.

☕ Year-End Coffee with the Principal

Thank you to all families who joined us for our final Coffee with the Principal of the year. It was a wonderful way to close out the school year, and we look forward to welcoming you back when we begin the upcoming school year!

📚 PTA Birthday Book Celebration

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing PTA for continuing the Birthday Book tradition. Every student receives a special book to celebrate their birthday. This week, we celebrated students with birthdays in April, May, and June.

🎉 Staff Appreciation Week

Staff Appreciation Week was truly special thanks to the generosity of our school community. Our incredible PTA and volunteers made the week memorable with delicious food, sweet treats, and thoughtful gestures. They brought lots of smiles, full hearts, and happy tummies to our staff each day.

🌊 6th Grade Field Trip to Corona del Mar

Our 6th grade students enjoyed a day at Corona del Mar State Beach. They explored tide pools, observed marine life up close, participated in a beach clean-up, and learned about ocean ecosystems and the impact of pollution.

VAPA Showcase

The 5th Grade VAPA Elective Showcase celebrates student creativity in digital art, musical theatre, and drum classes, highlighting their artistic growth throughout the year.

Performance is at 8:30 AM in Memoli Hall Families are invited to attend and enjoy the student showcase.

6th Grade Music Production and Photo/Video

Step into the spotlight for A Night on the Red Carpet!

Join us at 5:00 PM for an exciting evening celebrating our 6th Grade Music Production and Photo/Video students as they debut their album and shine at an awards ceremony.

This special event will be held at Longden Elementary on May 11 in Memoli Hall.

Don’t miss this red carpet celebration of student talent and creativity!

Celebrate Your Student’s Birthday in Lights!

Make their day extra special with a birthday shout out on our new digital marquee. Submit your birthday message request using the attached Google form and drop off your $20 tax-deductible donation to the office or pay by credit card using the link in the form. Google Form

Just a friendly note: if you send us any requests during breaks or on days when school is not in session, our response might be delayed until we're back. Thanks for your understanding!

If your child is absent for any reason, please call, email, or send a note to our front office at:

Date(s) of absence
Reason for absence
Name of parent/guardian reporting absence

Deliveries

Please be advised that the office does not allow lunch drop-offs, water bottles, instruments, homework, schoolwork, books, etc. Your understanding and cooperation are highly appreciated as we work together to create an environment that maximizes student learning and maintains a safe, closed campus.

What if your child forgets breakfast or lunch?

Our cafeteria will provide nutritious options at no charge.

Would you like to become a Parent Volunteer?

Please fill out the Longden Parent Volunteer Form
Have all of the necessary documents requested in the form
Communicate with your child's teacher to confirm the time & date to volunteer.

*Please note: Not all teachers request volunteers. You will still have volunteer opportunities with Longden PTA.

E-Bike Safety Reminder

This is a reminder to ride your e-bikes safely! Remember:

E-bike riders must follow the same traffic rules as traditional cyclists.
Riders must obey all traffic laws and posted signs.
E-bikes are allowed on approved bike lanes and roadways.
Tandem riding is not allowed unless proper seating is provided.
Riders under 18 are required to wear a helmet.
